Brady Bunch star Maureen McCormick reveals her drug-taking, dates with Jacko and wild nights at the Playboy mansion in her new book Maureen McCormick is famous for her role as the Brady Bunch’s wholesome older sister, but off-screen the actress couldn’t have been more opposite. While her character Marcia Brady was winning over audiences with her fresh-faced charm, McCormick was spiralling into depression and resorting to drug abuse, she admits in a shocking tell-all book.

The Brady Bunch is a sitcom created by Sherwood Schwartz. The show follows Mike Brady (Robert Reed), a widowed architect with sons Greg (Barry Williams), Peter (Christopher Knight) and Bobby (Mike Lookinland).Mike marries Carol Martin (Florence Henderson), whose daughters from her previous marriage are Marcia (Maureen McCormick), Jan and Cindy (Susan Olsen).

In the first season, this blending figures prominently in the stories. On several episodes of Christopher Knight’s reality show series, My Fair Brady, Florence Henderson made guest appearances, and gave advice on Knight’s ongoing relationship issues. Knight also invited Barry Williams, Susan Olsen, and Mike Lookinland to a wedding party, during which most of his time was spent hanging out with them, away from the party. Maureen Mc Cormick even acted as a wedding minister for them once, asking Mike Lookinland if he took Susan Olsen as his “awfully wedded wife”.

Tiger the dog — The original dog that played Tiger was hit by a florist truck and killed early in the first season. A replacement dog proved problematic, so the producers decided the dog would only appear when essential to the plot. He said it was important his betrothed accept that his Brady Bunch friends are an important part of his life.
