Ayoub assures gamers that are doing all that they can to stabilise the online portion of the game to get games playing online as soon as possible. Players have expressed frustration at poor matchmaking times, or bad experiences in general. Since launch, we have done a number of daily server-side tweaks to improve this experience and our data indicates these adjustments have helped considerably, but the state is still far from where it needs to be.

Over the past 48 hours, we believe we have identified the primary matchmaking issue, and are working on a solution right now. We are monitoring the data and working on tweaks that should continue to improve your matchmaking experience while we prep.

Halo developer Industries acknowledged the struggles, explaining on Twitter that a temporary–and of course, not ideal–workaround is to exit matchmaking and start again. We’re aware that some users are experiencing longer than normal Matchmaking search times.

We are actively working on a fix for this issue. If after a few minutes you’re unable to find a match, exit Matchmaking and then begin searching again.
